Dear Diary.... Adding a few weeks to this post due to the fact I've been painting the same things over and over.  Nearly through the other side of the tunnel. On this week 16 of 52 I did: Apr 16 - added camo to first squad pants and other touchups Apr 17 - touched up second squad and all bases, built a Command Shuttle for Terrain Apr 18 - built terrain piece from plastcraft Apr 19 - Wash and prep squads 3, 4, two AT-RT, Bases, Barriers, measuring tools with soap and water Apr 20 - Basecoat said above items Apr 21 - Touchups on basecoat Week 17 of 52 - No Painting Apr 22 - Leaving for a Business Trip for a Week. Apr 23-29 - enjoying Nor Cal hopefully! Week 18 of 52 Apr 30 - Recovering from Travel May 1 - Detail bases May 2 - Pin models May 3 - paint up 3rd Squad of Rebel Troopers May 4 - Paint T-47 Airspeeders May 5 - Paint AT-RT #2 and part of AT-RT #3 May 6 - Game Night! - Played Unstable Unicorns and Dice Throne Season One

Star Wars: Legion Painting Diary Build Diary The models that come with the game need to be assembled.  Unlike some of the metal miniatures from Infinity with 5-10 parts these are mainly 2-3 parts.  You should make a decision to glue the arms to the models or leave them lose and assemble afterwards.  Some of the sculpts make it difficult to get areas with a brush after its been glued.  Personally for me I like to glue everything together for better priming, zenithal lighting and if you make a mistake later with a gap it will be harder to fill and colour match.   In any case you should test fit all the pieces before glueing to make sure its flush,  the injection point for the mould is where the joint goes into the body.  On some of the models there was some extra plastic in the way to allow the model to be flush.  Take your hobby knife and clean it up a bit and test fit it again until its flush. Dear Diary.... On this week 13 through 15 of 52 I did: It's been awhile, a long while since I posted a Journal entry.  Mainly I have been really busy putting some spiritual parts of my life in order as well as learning how to build terrain and paint a crap ton of Star Wars: Legion. It's been a bit repetitive and I have completed half of my Core Set.  It took about 3 weeks for me to prepare, clean, base, and paint them up.  17 Miniatures in total.  Some with Custom bases made with Super Sculpy and stamped out using my Basius Pads. I also built some terrain pieces from Plastcraft and a few models from Revell that I think will go great with Legion on the tabletop. I have also been researching a lot on how to build gaming terrain, namely trees, hills etc.  I have some Hydrocal, Tree Armatures and I am ready to make some rock features and forests in the near future.

I've got a bad feeling about this... For my wallet. My poor poor wallet..It's as if a Million voices cried out all at once. Yes Folks, the latest miniatures war game from Fantasy Flight Games.  At this point in time I might as well just sign my paycheque directly to FFG and they can just send me plastic things that go pew! Set in the Star Wars Universe you will be able to engage in epic battles with your favorite heroes and vehicles from the Canon. Released last week on March 22nd, the Core Set and Wave 1 expansions.  I've been following the not pre-ordering things idiom from the video game world lately and did not pre order this game.  Sadly I didn't get a copy at my main Local Game store on launch day.  As destiny would have it ootandaboot with my wife and child on the weekend we stopped in at another game store that I hardly ever go to; due to the distance from where I live, and they had lots of copies left.    In a extraordinary move o...

Kingdom Death Monster 1.5 Painting Diary This post is a work in progress document with updates as I go along. Build Diary Tools Needed: Hobby Knife, Green Stuff, Needle Files, CA Glue, Sprue Cutters and Patience Seriously go here:  Build Instructions Tips and Lessons Learned: From my Gunpla and model building experience having a good Sprue/side cutter, is a must.  Don't clip right at the end where the sprue meets the sculpt but farther back.  Later you can clean up the nubs with a hobby knife/file.  This is to ensure you don't accidentally cut a piece you aren't supposed to.  As well you don't stress the plastic; although in this case we are painting the model after so any stress marks will be covered up. Greenstuff!  - I found working with the solid stuff a bit frustrating on models as delicate as these and resorted to using the liquid greenstuff.  My mistake was not waiting for it to dry before the next coat and thus added a lot m...
