Week 13 to 15 Journal - Mar 26 to April 15, 2018

Dear Diary....

On this week 13 through 15 of 52 I did:

It's been awhile, a long while since I posted a Journal entry.  Mainly I have been really busy putting some spiritual parts of my life in order as well as learning how to build terrain and paint a crap ton of Star Wars: Legion.

It's been a bit repetitive and I have completed half of my Core Set.  It took about 3 weeks for me to prepare, clean, base, and paint them up.  17 Miniatures in total.  Some with Custom bases made with Super Sculpy and stamped out using my Basius Pads.

I also built some terrain pieces from Plastcraft and a few models from Revell that I think will go great with Legion on the tabletop.

I have also been researching a lot on how to build gaming terrain, namely trees, hills etc.  I have some Hydrocal, Tree Armatures and I am ready to make some rock features and forests in the near future.

Flashpoint Painting Diary

I hope that everyone had a chance to decompress during the holidays and recharge your batteries for 2018.  My Christmas was full of family stuff and I was hoping to get some more board gaming in but alas I succumbed to a nasty flu virus and was knocked out for 4 days. Anyhow before any of that happened I managed to make some progress on the miniatures for Flashpoint.   When we left each other last you saw a preview of the HAZMAT Operator: Colour Diary When ever I am going create a painting diary post I am going to list the colours so that, if you at home someday are reading this blog you can follow along.  Citadel Paints are easily found in most Gaming Stores and if you are in a large city and have a Games Workshop they would carry the full line.  When I started painting I bought a lot of Citadel paints, but about 4 months in I switched over to Vallejo because it comes in a dropper bottle.  Let me tell you how much easier it is to work ...

Magic Maze

Don't let yourself get attached... ...to anything that you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner. Nominated in 2017 for the Spiel des Jahres; losing out to Kingdomino.  Magic Maze is a co-operative realtime heist game for 1-8 players.   In the game you are a band of adventurers who has lost all their stuff!  How can a Barbarian slay without Steel?  Can a Dwarf and an Elf have a orc slaying competition without an Axe and a Bow?  And our poor Mage without components you just have a nice squishy target.  So what do you do?  You embrace your inner Mallrat, engage in some shop lifting and then try to escape the mall without getting caught . The game features some cool game mechanics.  Because there are only 4 pawns everyone controls all the pawns.  What happens is that at the beginning of the game the starting map tile is placed on the table with the 4 pawns on it....
