Week 16-18 Journal - Apr 16 to May 6, 2018

Dear Diary....

Adding a few weeks to this post due to the fact I've been painting the same things over and over.  Nearly through the other side of the tunnel.



On this week 16 of 52 I did:

Apr 16 - added camo to first squad pants and other touchups

Apr 17 - touched up second squad and all bases, built a Command Shuttle for Terrain

Apr 18 - built terrain piece from plastcraft

Apr 19 - Wash and prep squads 3, 4, two AT-RT, Bases, Barriers, measuring tools with soap and water

Apr 20 - Basecoat said above items

Apr 21 - Touchups on basecoat

Week 17 of 52 - No Painting

Apr 22 - Leaving for a Business Trip for a Week.

Apr 23-29 - enjoying Nor Cal hopefully!

Week 18 of 52

Apr 30 - Recovering from Travel

May 1 - Detail bases

May 2 - Pin models

May 3 - paint up 3rd Squad of Rebel Troopers

May 4 - Paint T-47 Airspeeders

May 5 - Paint AT-RT #2 and part of AT-RT #3

May 6 - Game Night! - Played Unstable Unicorns and Dice Throne Season One

Flashpoint Painting Diary

I hope that everyone had a chance to decompress during the holidays and recharge your batteries for 2018.  My Christmas was full of family stuff and I was hoping to get some more board gaming in but alas I succumbed to a nasty flu virus and was knocked out for 4 days. Anyhow before any of that happened I managed to make some progress on the miniatures for Flashpoint.   When we left each other last you saw a preview of the HAZMAT Operator: Colour Diary When ever I am going create a painting diary post I am going to list the colours so that, if you at home someday are reading this blog you can follow along.  Citadel Paints are easily found in most Gaming Stores and if you are in a large city and have a Games Workshop they would carry the full line.  When I started painting I bought a lot of Citadel paints, but about 4 months in I switched over to Vallejo because it comes in a dropper bottle.  Let me tell you how much easier it is to work ...

Galaxy Trucker

Smokey and the Bandit in SPAAAAACEE Happy New Years to you all! Galaxy Trucker is an amazing game from well known designer Vlaada Chvatil.  Vlaada has brought to the table such games as Mage Knight, Star Trek Frontiers, Codenames, Through the Ages, and of course this game. In Galaxy Trucker, each player receives a tableau board in order to build a space ship. In the middle of the table within reach of all the players a very large pile of tokens all face down is created.  Reminds me a bit like Mah Jong without the clackity clack clack. Once ready, a sand timer is started and with only one hand and one tile at a time everyone makes a mad dash to flip over tiles.  You then decide if you want to keep that tile and connect it to your base module.  If not, you return the tile back into the common area face up this time and it becomes free grabs for any of the other players to use.  Connectors must match on both sides of the tile once set and you rea...
